Defender Justin Suarez revealed it was an ‘amazing feeling’, as FC Malaga City U17s began their USL Academy Cup competition with a victory.
Los Lobos came out 1-0 winners over Oregon Valley Football Alliance in their opening match of the competition.
The side have two more group games coming up the next two days, before moving onto the knockout stages on Monday.
“I feel that all the boys played a good game,” he said.
“There is always room for improvement but as a side we are all very pleased to get our first win.
“It’s an amazing feeling to win the first game of the tournament.
“We came out really strong wanting to get this first win to give us a confidence boost.
“Coach Kev and Colin kept us going the full game - and as a group we were all involved.
“The players on the bench gave us a big boost and when they came on they made a big impact.
“We are all looking to relax for the rest of the day in our hotel and get our minds set for tomorrow.
“Tomorrow is a new start over and we have to come out strong and play our game."
