FC Malaga City New York coach Kevin Longacre is expecting a “positive reaction” against Boston Bolts this evening.
Los Lobos continue their busy USL League Two schedule this evening with a trip to UMass Newton to face the Bolts.
The side faced the Boston-based side earlier in the season, suffering a 1-0 defeat.
“Boston Bolts is an excellent team,” he said.
“They are the best team in possession that we have played this year - so we have to be incredibly sharp with the ball and in our defensive shape.
“We know only having one point from a possible nine has made getting three points tonight critical.
“I expect a really positive reaction from the players to get after the win tonight.”
Longacre admitted that every day the squad are improving, and was impressed with the performance in Los Lobos’ last outing - against Seacoast United Phantoms.
“When you bring a group of players together from different parts of the country and world, it takes time to get an understanding of tendencies and styles,” he continued.
“Each day the players gain a better understanding of each other’s strengths and weaknesses.
“There has also been a major improvement in our fitness levels since the start of the season.
“It very easily could have been three points against Seacoast United as the game went on.
“There was a true desire to win the match and our ability to build on that is paramount.
“The area we have been lacking a bit is our combination play between our midfield and front three.
“We have made some changes that we hope will allow us to create more chances in the final third.”
